Chasing the Lions!

Regina and I went to South Africa for a break after the election and took in the final Lions test match. It was great to be there to support the Irish players, particularly the Munster lads and the captain Paul O'Connell. It was a brillant occasion. We happened to be joined in Joburg by my parents who got a last minute trip there as well. So it was a bit of a family occasion that I would not have dreamed of happening a few weeks earlier.
The Lions were brillant in the game and it was great to see John Hayes get a cap especially after all his service for Ireland and Munster. At the match we bumped into the infamous Hector who proceeded to present me with a t-shirt of the three Munster players who missed out through injury and suspension, Gerry Flannery, Tomas O'Leary and of course Alan Quinlan. We bumped into him a few more times later on as well.
Afterwards of course I met up with a good few from home and we had a good laugh. Like ourselves many of them were going to take an extra few days to visit Cape Town and a few other areas. That night we bumped into a good few of the Lions team which was great on such a unique occasion.
