Marion Kelly's Legacy

I have huge admiration for the extended family of Marion Kelly for the way in which they fought over the last year to ensure that the drug that Marion was on - Respreeza - was guaranteed for the remaining 19 Irish people battling the rare disorder Alpha-1 antitripsan deficiency. The provision was confirmed by the HSE and CSL Behring - the manufacturers of the drug on Wednesday this week. The determination the family showed to honour Marion and the solidarity they had for the remaining patients is something that will always stay with me.
