Out and About with Cllr John Gilroy

Canvassing with Cllr John Gilroy in Glanmire was a pleasure. he is a great local Cllr and rarely have I seen someone to be so popular as John is. He is also someone who has worked extremely hard over the last five years on arange of issues, from health to education cutbacks to planning and environmental issues.
John is also someone who has been very helpful to me over the last few years, with various pieces of advice from time to time, especially when I said I was lookinf for the nomination. John is someone who always gets the job done!

TIPPERARY GAA DINNER DANCE NEW YORK

I was in New York last week doing some work that I had planned for some time. While there I was delighted to take up an invitation to attend the Tipperary GAA Dinner Dance. It was a fantastic occasion especially as the Liam McCarthy was present under the stewardship of Tipp Manager Liam Sheedy and Captain Eoin Kelly. Also present were selector Mick Ryan and Tipp U 21 Captain Padraic Maher. We also had a Kerry man in our midst in the statur of John Evans, Tipp Football Manager and a real character.

Campaigning with Eamon in Cork

Today and yesterday Eamon Gilmore was with us in Cork. We had a social evening in the Rochestown Park hotel on Thursday and there was a huge crowd present to here Eamon and myself speak. It was a great opportunity to rally the troops again for the final 5 weeks. it also gave me time to meet up with some of the new candidates that have come to the field in the last few weeks. I was really pleased to see so many new, young faces amongst them.

Campaigning in Cork North Central

Yesterday was one of the best days on the Euro campaign trail. We were in Cork North Central with my colleague Kathleen Lynch TD and Cllrs. Catherine Clancy, John Kelleher and Michael O'Connel. Kathleen is a n excellent local TD and very popular. We visited Blackpool, Blarney St, Shandon St and a number of schools and community groups as well as doing quite an amount of press. It was great to be back on my old stomping ground. I really have an affection for that side of Cork from my time living in the city.
